Murdo and Jack the horse, Inverbroom

Murdo with his horse Jack. Presumably an estate worker preparing one of the estate horses for duties later in the day. The type of harness on the horse is neither that used for pulling a cart as there is no collar or any support for the shafts, nor is it a girth for a conventional saddle this leads to the possibility that it is a deer stalking 'pony' and will be bringing in the beasts from the hill after a successful stalk. Inverbroom is situated a mile or so east of the head of Loch Broom on the south side of the River Broom.
