A photograph of five crewmen on board the yacht "Thendara". Pictured, from left to right, are Left to Right; Jackie MacKenzie, Willie James MacKenzie, Danny MacKenzie, Alick MacKenzie and John MacKenzie. All the men were from villages around Loch Broom.
RNYC stands for Royal Northumbrian Yacht Club.
The yacht was built in 1936 by Alexander Stephens & Son, Glasgow. After falling into disrepair she was restored in Southampton in 1993-94, completely refitted in 1999 and offered for sale for 5,000,000 Euros in 2007.
It was quite common for the owners of racing yachts to bring them to the Western Highlands during the summer months and hire local men to crew on them.
