This plaque, found inside Clachan Church near Inverbroom, is dedicated to the memory of Sir John Fowler, 1st Baronet. He was notable as the chief engineer on the first underground railway (the London Metropolitan Railway) and for the Forth Railway Bridge. The inscription states that Sir John "resided for 47 years in the Highlands of Scotland," and that he "greatly benefited the inhabitants of Lochbroom."
