Cameron of Lochiel to Lady Hermione Cameron, 20 May 1915 (1 of 2)

This letter was written by Donald Walter Cameron of Lochiel, in France, to Lady Hermione Cameron at Buchanan Castle, Drymen on 20 May 1915. The following is a transcript of the parts which relate to the war:

Just got your darling letter of 17th. I can’t make out why you never got my first letter written on the 12th, I t was addressed to Achnacarry & should have reached there 14th or 15th. But Malise [Lord Douglas Malise Graham 1883 – 1974. Lady Hermione’s brother] tells me those red envelopes are no quicker than the ordinary envelope. You never gave me your address so I never knew where to write to. The letter you got was addressed to Buchanan as all the others were addressed Achnacarry & the last 3 days I have been writing to Buchanan. I suppose this had better go there too.
