Dingwall Theatre Bill advertising the tragedy 'Othello!'

A Dingwall theatre playbill for Friday 9 February 1849. The evening commenced with the Shakespearean tragedy 'Othello'. 'Othello (the Moor of Venice)' was played by Mr G. Owen and 'Desdemona' was played by Miss Jane Tyrer. To conclude, the farce 'Lovers' Quarrels' was shown.

The performance commenced at 7:30pm and seat prices ranged from sixpence in the gallery to one shilling and sixpence in the boxes

The Latin words 'Vivant Regina', translating as 'Long Live the Queen' are printed at the bottom of the playbill.This referred to Queen Victoria
