The mountains at Torridon are all composed primarily from Torridonian red sandstone and the area includes some of the west coast's highest and most striking mountains, including Liathach (1055 metres), Beinn Aighe (1026 metres) and Beinn Alligin. Each of these mountains is spaced widely apart and has been likened to castles.
