People outside Badachro Post Office

A photograph of Mr and Mrs MacAulay of Opinan with their young daughter, entering Badachro in their cart. The people posing beside their cart and in front of the Badachro Post Office are (from right to left) the postman, Mrs Thompson, the Post Mistress, and J. Watson.

Located 3 km south of the community at Gairloch, Badachro is a small fishing village with an excellent natural harbour, popular as an anchorage for yachts. During the late nineteenth century, the village was a busy fishing centre, with a thriving cod industry. Today, the fishing industry potters along on a more modest scale.
