The Pupils of Badachro School in 1953

A group photograph, taken in 1953, of the pupils at Badachro School, in Badachro.

Located 3 km south of the community at Gairloch, Badachro is a small, scenic fishing village with an excellent natural harbour, popular as an anchorage for yachts. During the late nineteenth century, the village was a busy fishing centre, with a thriving cod industry. Today, the fishing industry potters along on a more modest scale.
