This photograph - a clearer copy of HCD00827 - shows an assembly of people at an open air church service in Plockton. Services were held here after the Disruption of 1843 when Church of Scotland Ministers left to form the Free Church. A Free Church building was opened in Plockton in 1845, but services and communions continued on this site for many years, most likely due to the numbers of people that could be easily accommodated. This photo shows people seated in the centre for communion
