Letter to Home Guard Commander Ref: Berriedale

Letter sent from Dunbeath Castle to Home Guard Commander in Wick regarding the defence of Berriedale.

The writer discusses the logistics of defending Berriedale and the problems caused by lack of instruction for the winter nights. During summer the nights were shorter and better weather allowed regular patrols, but at the time of writing the Home Guard company in that area had no instruction as to patrols.

Letter continues on page two.
