Cameron of Lochiel to Lady Hermione Cameron, 24 August 1914

This letter was written by Donald Walter Cameron of Lochiel whilst at the Central Station Hotel, Glasgow, to Lady Hermione Cameron at Buchanan Castle, Drymen on 24 August 1914. Colonel Cameron was on his way to barracks at Aldershot. The following is a transcript of the parts of the letter which relate to the war:

I have left my beautiful little fountain pen behind at Buchanan. It must be in the Billiard Room, as I remember taking it out of my pocket there. Would you send it on?

I got here all right & found a room booked for a Colonel Campbell, which I presume is intended for me. Anyway I am occupying it. It was so nice getting a little glimpse of you like I did today.
