pharmacy

Duncan Macpherson set up his pharmacy in Kyle of Lochalsh in 1912 and supplied not only medicines and other chemist related items such as toothbrushes and shampoos, but also tourist information, postcards and photographic materials.
This letter is an example of the variety of items requested from the pharmacy: poison to get rid of lice on cattle, cascara pills and cakes of soap. Mrs MacRae has even asked him to pop to the shop next door and buy a couple of masks for her children to wear at a school Hallowe'en party. What a service!
