Duncan Macpherson set up his pharmacy in Kyle of Lochalsh in 1912 and supplied not only medicines and other chemist related items such as toothbrushes and shampoos, but also tourist information, postcards and photographic materials. Treatments for animals were also supplied from the pharmacy as this request shows, with the mail coach used to transport goods. This request for powder to destroy lice on cattle has been written on a postcard preprinted with D. Macpherson, Chemist, Kyle on the front
