Commemorative album presented to John Lyndsay Robertson, HM Chief Inspector of Schools, by the educational authorities and teaching profession of the Northern Highlands to mark the occasion of his reaching 25 years' service.

Commendation of John Lyndsay Robertson, HM Inspector of Schools.

He had been appointed a Junior Inspector in 1880. In 1882 he was given full responsibility for Caithness, Sutherland, Easter Ross and the Hebridean islands of Inverness-shire. In 1888, the Education Department appointed him manager of the school districts of the Hebrides When financial crisis threatened their existence
