This is a plan of Golspie station showing the proposed extension of the 'Up' platform. It is dated 19 April 1912 and signed by William Roberts, Highland Railway's Engineer in Chief. A handwritten addition to the plan states that the extension was "pegged out" on 18 June 1912.

The Bonar Bridge to Golspie section of the Sutherland Railway was opened on 13 April 1868. The Duke of Sutherland's Railway extended the line from Golspie to Dunrobin in June 1871.

Golspie is still served by passenger trains although goods services ceased in January 1984.
