Loth is approximately half way between Brora and Helmsdale, on the east coast of Sutherland. The station was served by passenger trains between November 1870 and June 1960 and by goods services between May 1871 and May 1964.

The plan is from the period when the line was operated by the London Midland and Scottish Railway and so it is likely to have been drawn in the 1930s
