New Year 1945 programme

This programme advertises entertainment open to Allied troops in Florence at the beginning of 1945. It was published jointly by the British Army Welfare and the American Red Cross, Florence Command. Entertainment helped to maintain the morale of the troops during World War II. At the top of the programme are words from the King's Christmas Day broadcast: 'To create a world of free men untouched by tyranny'.

This programme was provided by Margaret Wright who was interviewed by a pupil of Grantown Primary School as part of a War Detectives project in 2005
