Soldier's Service and Pay Book

This Soldier's Service and Pay Book belonged to a soldier in the London Scottish Regiment during World War II. Attached to the inside cover is a fold-out paper with notes on radio and telegraphy communications. These remind the R/T operator: 'It is important that all R/T comns are kept as short & brief as possible. No unnecessary transmissions should be made. SECURITY is very important as we must always remember THE ENEMY LISTENS.' There then follow some examples of code to be used.

Soldier's Service Book provided by Neil McKechnie for a War Detectives project in 2005
