This image shows a Federated Malay States Driving Licence. The licence was issued to Signalman John Cameron Gordon of Ord House, Muir of Ord. John Cameron Gordon was enlisted into the Royal Signals in 1936. He served at home, in India, and finally in Malaya, where he was captured by Japanese soldiers. He spent a period of three years as a prisoner of war before being repatriated in 1945.

After the war years, John Gordon went on to become the proprietor of the music shop, 'The Record Rendezvous', located at Church Street, Inverness.
