In this document dated 13 December 1751, James Rose, late treasurer of Inverness, lists the 'Deficient Rents & Casualties' in the years of his office from Michaelmas 1746 to Michaelmas 1748.
Included in the list of debtors is David Dunbar, gunsmith, for '1 year rent for the Shop in the Bridgehouse', Alexander Fraser, baxter (baker), for '1 year rent of the Manse Garden', and John Bain, shoemaker, for 'his Burges Dues'. The total amount of debt is one hundred and forty pounds and eighteen shillings, Scots money.
