Confirmation of Royal Charter issued on 3 March 1369 (Back)

Anns an daingneachadh seo leis a' cheann-là, Eilginn, 3mh Ògmhios 1373, tha Alasdair, Easbaig Mhoireibh, a' dearbhadh Còir-sgrìobhte Rìoghail na bu tràithe, dèanta le Daibhidh ll an 3mh Màrt 1369. Tha a' chòir-sgrìobhte a' buileachadh fearainn, còirean is sochairean air borgh Inbhir Nis. Tha an sgrìobhainn le fo-sgrìobhadh air a chur ris: 'a charter of ye Biscop of Murrew berand witnes of ye feftment of ye burch.'

Tha an dealbh a' sealltainn cùlaibh na sgrìobhainn.

Tha an daingneachadh a' dèanamh cinnteach dè na gabhaltais a bh' aig a' bhorgh ann an làithean caran buaireasach a' chiad rìgh Stiùbhartaich, Raibeart ll. Thàinig an Dreigidh gu bhith na phàirt de thalamh choitcheann a' bhuirgh a ghabhadh cleachdadh le bùirdeisich a' bhuirgh airson crodh agus caoraich ionaltradh, cladhadh nam fàdan mònach 's togail nan ceapan 's an fhraoich airson tughadh a dhèanamh. B' e na làithean pàighidh, a' Chaingis, fèill ghluasadach an t-7mh Dòmhnach an dèidh na Càisge, agus Là Mhàrtainn sa Gheamhradh, an 11mh Samhain. B' iad seo na làithean ràithe àbhaisteach airson pàighidh ann an Alba sna Meadhan-linntean 's as dèidh siud.

Mar dhearbhadh air an daingneachadh tha a' chòir-sgrìobhte gu lèir air ath-aithris. Ann am foillseachadh bho 1875 aig Teàrlach Friseal-Mac anTòisich, 'Invernessiana: Contributions Toward a History of the Town and Parish of Inverness, from 1160 to 1599' (dg 69), tha an sgrìobhainn air eadar-theangachadh on Laidinn thùsail mar seo:
