Hilda

"I first came to Scotland in 2006 to study English in Edinburgh where I stayed for about 6 months. I returned to Scotland in July last year to start a PhD on Rural community adaptation to climate change with the UHI Centre for Remote and Rural Studies in Inverness. I couldn't have asked for a better opportunity to develop my career and meet my research interests. Here I feel safe and compared to Caracas this is a very peaceful place.

I love the fact that I can walk throughout the city, see some familiar faces and always get a smile back. It has been so interesting to experience the cultural differences in day to day life and learn new things about myself; especially how influential the weather can be over my emotions! I do miss the tropical sun, my family and my friends but I must say that Scotland has been a good second home to me."

Chaidh an dealbh camara seo de Hilda a thogail ann am Pàirc nam Bochd. Bidh i tric a' coiseachd troimhe air a slighe chun an ionad spòrs.

Tha eilthireachd air a bhith na phàirt den eòlas Gàidhealach airson ceudan de bhliadhnaichean; tha agus in-imrich. A-nis on a tha còrr agus 50 cànan gam bruidhinn ann an sgoiltean na Gàidhealtachd tha e soilleir gur e nàisean ioma-cultarach a th' ann an Alba. 'S e aon de shreath de dheilbh de Ghàidheil Ùra a tha seo. Tha iad air a thighinn an seo airson iomadh adhbhar; gus obair; gus foghlam fhaighinn no gus beatha ùr a dhèanamh. Tha iad uile a' cur ri Alba ùr.

Airson stiùireadh mu bhith a’ cleachdadh ìomhaighean agus susbaint eile, faicibh duilleag ‘Na Cumhaichean air Fad.’
’S e companaidh cuibhrichte fo bharantas clàraichte ann an Alba Àir. SC407011 agus carthannas clàraichte Albannach Àir. SC042593 a th’ ann an High Life na Gàidhealtachd.
