'S e seanchaidh traidiseanta à Cataibh a th' ann an Essie Stiùbhairt agus 's i tè na daoine mu dheireadh a bha an sàs sa 'Choiseachd Shamhraidh' a bhiodh aig an luchd-taisteil. 'S e ban-ogha aig Ailidh Dall Stiùbhart (1882-1968) a th' innte, agus bha e-fhèin am measg nan seanchaidhean Gàidhlig a b' fheàrr a bh' ann. Tha Essie ag innse a sgeulachdan san dà chuid, Beurla is Gàidhlig.

Sa chuibhreann chlaistinneach seo, air a chlàradh aig Fèis Leabhraichean Ulapuil ann an 2008, tha Essie a' bruidhinn air fear de na h-ionadan campachaidh a bhiodh aca ann an Mealanais, Cataibh.

'Fourteen years ago, when the book was launched - The Summer Walkers - I was in Tongue Hotel and this guy came up to me and he said, 'Essie, you, you've - I won't - you won't know me, but, he said, 'I'm Robert Mackay from Melness' and he said, 'You would, you would know the family.' And he said, 'See the site at Midtown, where you camped, where you used to camp?' and I said 'Yes.' Well,' he said 'the people of Melness called that Buaile Oisein; buaile meaning a hollow, because there was a hollow in the ground. Buaile and Oisein, of course, being the Ossian story. And, you know, my grandfather told the Ossian story. And they said, 'We called that site Buaile Oisein. Unfortunately, last year when we went, we couldn't use the site because there's a caravan on that site now.'
