'My main memory of the Christmas period are visits to Frasers the Furnishers' 'Cave' in Union Street. There's a well known place during that time where all the toys which were on sale at that period, were displayed in this basement of Frasers' store. Younger kids of course were 'Santa's Cave' but us older fellows, you know, around ten and twelve-year-old, it was just the 'Cave' and we - We were never allowed to down ourselves to that 'Cave', we were always with our mothers or aunts and so it was always a case of trying to get the aunt to go to town with you and take you to the 'Cave', hoping that she would buy you a wee something or other'
