Bha Rèile an Eilein Duibh na mheur de Rèile na Gàidhealtachd bho thùs. Bha e a' giùlan luchd-siubhail eadar 1894 agus 1951(bathar gu 1960) agus bha e a' ruith eadar Am Blàr Dubh agus A' Chananaich agus bha e a' stad aig stèiseanan anns a' Chaisteal Dhearg, Alan, Bun Lòchaidh agus Abhach.

San earrainn èisteachd seo bho na 1980an, tha neach-tadhail às an Eilean Dubh a' cuimhneachadh a bhith a' siubhal air an rèile.

'When I was very young my parents used to take my sister and me to Fortrose on holiday in the summer and of course we would travel by train from Dingwall to Muir of Ord where we changed onto the Black Isle line. I can remember vaguely the Black Isle line - in those days it was the Highland Railway - and we had the green carriages and they were rather, they were rather severe but adequate, I suppose. And perhaps in those days it would have been one of the 'Ben' class engines which I admire so much. There was Ben Wyvis which was my favourite, naturally'
