B' e eaglais an Naoimh Muire, air Sràid Hunndaidh, a' chiad eaglais Chaitligeach a chaidh a thogail ann an Inbhir Nis on Ath Leasachadh, ann an 1837. Thàinig cailleachan dubha Fhranganach a dh'Inbhir Nis à Glaschu. Bha iad stèidhichte ann an Sràid an Rìgh an toiseach, mus deach iad gu taigh ri taobh na h-eaglais air Sràid Hunndaidh. Bha iad a' ruith sgoil dhan robh clann às gach ceàrn de dh'Alba a' tighinn.

Chaidh na peathraichean a thoirt air ais a Ghlashu ann an 1935, is thàinig Peathraichean Notre Dame nan àite. Dh'fhosgail iad Sgoil na Manachainn a-rithist is ghluais iad e gu Taigh-geata Hunndaidh, air oisinn Rathad Chùl Dubhuillt is Rathad an Taobh a Deas. 'S ann leotha a bha Pàirc a' Chnuic. Bha Pàirc a' Chnuic aig Mgr Coinneach Siosal-Pant air màl an toiseach, ach chaidh a chleachdadh mar osdail airson na manachainn a-rithist. Ann an 1953, 's e cailleachan dubha à Òrdugh La Sagese a bha a' ruith ana sgoile is an osdail.

Chaidh Pàirc a' Chnuic a mhilleadh le teine air an 12mh dhen Òg-mhios 1959. Thuirt an 'Inverness Courier' seo mun teine:
"[Sister Rose] was awakened by the fire and found the way downstairs to the telephone barred by flames. Assisted by some schoolgirls, she immediately set about tying sheets together to make a rope, then started to climb down it from the top floor, 30 feet up. When only a few feet down, however, she lost her grip and fell to the ground, breaking her right shoulder bone. After climbing out of a top storey window, Chrissie Buchanan (13), a schoolgirl from Castlebay, Barra, missed her grasp on a ronepipe and fell 30 feet. She sustained a compound fracture of her left leg, and both she and Sister Rose were taken to Raigmore Hospital. Miss Edna Walton, Oban, an Inverness High School teacher, led the seven other girls in residence to safety."

'S e pàirt de bhunait Eaglais an Naoimh Ninian a th'anns na bh'air fhàgail de Phàirc a' Chnuic an-diugh
