Derailed carriages at the site of the accident at Baddengorm, June 1914

Carbadan far nan rèile aig làrach an tubaist aig A' Bhadan Gorm.

Air 18 An t-Ògmhios 1914 thuit drochaid thairis air Allt a' Bhadain Ghuirm faisg air Drochaid Chàrr am broinn a chèile, ag adhbharachadh gun do thuit pàirt de thrèana luchd-siubhail dhan allt. Chaidh còignear a bhàthadh.

Mhìnich an aithisg oifigeil air an tubaist, ceann-latha 10 Iuchar 1914, an suidheachadh a b' adhbhar dhan tubaist. "In this case, as the 11.50 a.m. Passenger train from Perth to Inverness was crossing the bridge carrying the railway over the Baddengorm Burn, the bridge collapsed and fell, carrying with it the fourth vehicle of the train. The burn was in very high flood at the time. Five passengers were drowned, and ten have complained of shock or injury."

Chomharraich an aithisg gun robh an drochaid thairis air an allt, a thogadh ann an 1893, "of a very solid construction", agus "the collapse of the bridge was due to no want of attention or care on the part of those responsible for its maintenance."

An àite sin, cho-dhùin an aithisg gum b' e a dh'adhbharaich an tubaist ach stoirm-uisge anabarrach trom, a dh'fhàg an t-allt fo thuil a dh'fhalbh leis an drochaid. Anns an aithisg oifigeil bha am fianais seo bho Raibeart MacFhionghuin, aig an robh tuathanas ri oir an uillt, "In his experience of 35 years he had never known anything like it, and he described how the flood appeared to come down in a wave 18 inches deep, which spread over his grounds, washing off the soil for nearly an acre."
