The White Bridge Inn

Dealbh-camara bhon a' chruinneachadh aig fear Jack MacUilleim, a thogadh, tha e coltach, sna 1890an. Tha sgrìobhte fodha, 'White Bridge Inn, S.E. side of Caledonian Canal'.

Bha an Taigh-òsta na Drochaid Ghil na sheasamh faisg air Eas Foithir, air taobh deas Loch Nis. Thugadh iomradh air an Taigh-òsta ann an 'Sylvan's Pictorial Handbook to the Scenery of the Caledonian Canal', a chaidh fhoillseachadh an 1848. Sgrìobh an ùghdar, '...we arrive at the picturesque stone bridge which crosses the Foyers water. The stream here forms a small cascade, and proceeds winding along on the left of the road, till it reaches the first leap of the celebrated Fall of Foyers. We have now arrived at the little White-bridge Inn, anxiously looked for, for some time. After refreshing ourselves with the very poor fare to be obtained - being nothing but dry oatcake and burning whiskey - we proceed on our journey.'

Tha Sligh'-Uisge na h-Alba a' ruith eadar Inbhir Nis air a' chost an ear agus A' Chorpaich, faisg air a' Ghearasdan, air an taobh siar. Chaidh fhosgladh ann an 1822, ach cha deach crìoch a chur air an obair gu lèir gu 1847
