Abbey Church, Fearn

Tha a' chairt seo bho 1904 a' sealltainn Eaglais na h-Abaid, Manachainn Rois.

Tha an abaid ann an sgìre bhig Manachainn Rois ann an Taobh Sear Rois. Chaidh a stèidheachadh anns an 12ra linn le Fearchar, ciad Iarla Rois, ach cha robh am fearann torrach. Fhuair muinntir na h-Eaglais cead oifigeil on Phàpa gus an Abaid ath-thogail far a bheil i an-diugh.

Air an taobh a deas tha tobhta de thrannsa an Naoimh Mhìcheil a chaidh a thogail leis an Aba Fionnlagh MacFaed mar àite adhlacaidh dha fhèin. Dh'eug an t-aba ann an 1485.

Thachair tubaist uamhraidh ann an 1742, agus nochd an t-iomradh seo anns an "Scots Magazine".

"On Sunday the 10th of October, in the time of worship, the roof and part of the side-wall of the church of Fearn in Rosshire fell suddenly in, occasioned by the violence of a storm, or as some say by lightning. It was a very old fabrick, built in the Gothic taste, and covered with flagstone. The Gentry had their seats in the niches, and by that means their lives were saved; as was the Minister Mr Daniel Ross, by the sounding- board's falling on the pulpit and his falling below it. The area of the church was covered with rubbish; vast numbers were sounded, and 40 dug out, whole bodies were smashed and disfigured, as they could scarcely be known; so that they were buried promiscuously without ceremony"

Chaidh an eaglais ath-thogail as ùr ann an 1772. Tha an Abaid a-nis mar phàirt de dh' eaglais na sgìre
