Rugadh is thogadh Màiri NicDhòmhnaill air Tuathanas Bhuntait air Oighreachd nan Siosalach, Gleann Urchardain. San earrainn chlaistinnich seo tha i a' bruidhinn mu mar a thàinig an tuathanas dhan teaghlach aice.

Interviewer: Now, how long was the Buntait Farm in your family?

Mary: Over two hundred years. I understand that a chief of the clan Chisholm married a lady from the clan of MacDonnell of Glengarry and when she came to live at Erchless Castle several of her kinsmen came with her and some of them were allocated the tenancies, the tenancy of some of the land and part of the Chisholm Estate extended to the top end of Glenurquhart and I understand that my forebears came to Buntait because of this marriage.

Interviewer: And so the farm was leased from the Chisholm Estate? Your family didn't own the farm?

Mary: No, they leased it from the Chisholm Estate right on until the estate was broken up and then they leased it from the following owners. There was a General Sir Charles Grant owned it for some time and then the Forestry Commission bought the area and the tenancy remained with my father, and then my brother, until he died a few years ago.
