B' àbhaist do Rosie Chaimbeul, tè às an Lagan, samhraidhean a h-òige a chur seachad ann an Craichidh, a' fuireach aig a caraid, Magaidh Nic a' Phearsain. Sa phìos chlaistinneach seo tha Rosie a' bruidhinn air an taigh a bh' aig Daibhidh MacDhòmhnaill.

'Interviewer: Let's come up the hill a little bit to David MacDonald's...

Yes.

...house. Can you remember much about that house?

David was another old man. I don't remember of David really working very much because he was pretty old by that time. He used to walk down to the shop at Laggan Post Office about once a month, it was a regular with him, and I don't mind, you know, of him ever, but he helped like; he'd be over helping the other crofters when they'd be working. And I don't remember if he had a - I don't think they even had a cow there; I think they just got their milk from the others, and they lived alone. There was himself and his nephew, Johnny, who was known as 'Johnny Town', and another nephew, Kenny MacDougall. They lived with him; I remember of them being there.

Interviewer: And what was that house like, was it thatched?

It was a thatched house too, and it was very dark inside, I remember also. Very small windows in it again. They were well set into the house, you know, very well set in.'
