This image shows the reverse side of a Bank of Scotland cheque, dating from 1954.The bank is instructed to pay Inverness Golf Club seven pounds and two shillings from the account of J.C. Gordon. The bottom stamp shows that the cheque has been endorsement guaranteed.

On 13 November, 1883, the Inverness Golf Club was formed, electing Lord Lovat as its first president. Over the next few years, members of the club played at Muir of Ord until courses were developed at Longman and Culcabock.
