Study using these learning resources will contribute to pupils’ knowledge and understanding in the following strands of the 5-14 Environmental Studies curriculum:

Social Subjects (People in the past)

  • People, events and societies in the past - developing an understanding of distinctive features of life in the past and why certain societies, people and events are regarded as significant.
  • Change and continuity, cause and effect - developing an understanding of change and continuity over time and of cause and effect in historical contexts.
  • The nature of historical evidence - developing an understanding of the variety of types of historical evidence and their relative significance

  • The human environment - developing an understanding of the patterns of human activity on the Earth's surface: settlement, ways of life
