I love this photograph. It's my favourite photograph in the whole of Am Baile. We knew nothing about it when we first saw it but there was something in the little girl's expression that captured my imagination. She looks totally unimpressed with the situation and she might just push off the wall any minute and run off to do something more exciting. We now know that she was called Euna and was an innkeeper's daughter from North Uist.

Actually I just wanted to be that little girl with the possibility of simply pushing away from the wall to run off on a big adventure.

Am Baile was established with initial funding from the New Opportunities Fund and is now funded by The Highland Council and managed as part of Highland Libraries.
