This plan is for a new steam laundry to be erected on the Market Stance, Nairn, for John Farquharson. The architect was Thomas Munro of 36 Academy Street, Inverness and the plan is dated 1904.

Plans for new buildings or alterations to existing ones had to be submitted to the Dean of Guild court for approval. A guild was a group of merchants who were influential citizens in the burgh, and their president, known as the Dean, had a role similar to that of a magistrate
