The Kyle Branch of the Commercial Bank, now the Royal Bank of Scotland, was built in 1896 in a central position on Main Street in Kyle of Lochalsh. The bank was built when the population increased dramatically when the railway was extended from Stromeferry to Kyle in 1897. The building has an asymetrical design with canted bay windows at one corner, surmounted by a conical roof tower. It is thought that the gentleman at the gate is Mr Hosack, the bank manager
