This photograph shows some of the ruined buildings at Crathie, a few miles west of Laggan, in Badenoch & Strathspey.

Crathie was one of the last Badenoch townships to be abandoned in the 20th century. Situated north of the River Spey, at the entrance to Glen Markie, Crathie once supported thirty families. Most of the township was depopulated in the late 19th century with further evacuations taking place in the 1920s.
