Schoolboys receiving drill, on Stewart's Green in Campbeltown. Drill was a form of physical education around the turn of the last century. The boys received drill twice a week, with each session lasting half an hour. Sergeant Instructor Wilson, photographed to the side of the boys, was paid five pounds for his annual salary
