A Roman Catholic pilgrimage to Iona in 1897 to celebrate a mass marking the 1300th anniversary of St Columba's death. The photograph is one of many taken by the Campbeltown shop-owners Charles and Dennis MacGrory. They captured many local scenes and events between 1890 and 1911, including those associated with St. Kieran's Roman Catholic Church, of which they were active members
