Mr Alexander Forbes, a chemist with premises in Castle Street, Inverness. Mr Forbes appears to have been a popular shopkeeper as he is quoted as being 'a gentleman of learning, refinement and courtesy, whose friendship it was a privilege to possess, for his conversation could not fail to elevate the tone of one's mind'. (- 'Inverness Before Railways' by Isabel Harriet Anderson, Inverness, 1885)
