Party gathered at Carrbridge Station for the opening of the line. The final section of the line between Inverness and Daviot was completed on the 1st November 1898, allowing a direct route from Inverness to Aviemore. Carrbridge Station had already been open for six years and a temporary service had been introduced between Carrbridge and Aviemore Junction
