High Street in front of Town Hall was filled with people to see the members of the Cabinet. Weather was sunny. Provost Macdonald welcomed the visitors & was introduced to each. Churchill was first to arrive. Lloyd George was 30 mins late due to the length of his meeting with the king at Balmoral. The Town Hall was guarded by police under Chief Constable MacNaughton
