    FULL ARTICLE

    BEAULY - A SAD CASE

A sad painful story comes from Beauly. On the morning of the 28th ult, Isabella Michael or Maclean, wife of Alexander Maclean, residing in the village, leaped out from the attic window of her own house, and fell to the ground ? a distance of 22 feet. The time would have been between three and four o'clock. The cries of the unfortunate woman, whose injuries were very severe, roused the occupants of the room below that which she had just quitted, and these persons carried her upstairs, and sent at once for Dr Corbett. Medical skill and attention, however, were of no avail, and the woman died on Thursday night. She was always well in mind and in body, and her conduct I, therefore, all the more inexplicable. On her bed, however, before she died, she told those around her that she fancied or dreamt that people had come to the house to carry her away to some unknown place. She became frightened, rose, and flew to the window, and had fallen out before she knew what she was doing.
