West Highland Animation was founded by Producer/Director Leslie MacKenzie in 1988.
The Company is committed to promoting the traditional and present-day culture and oral heritage of the Highlands and Islands through the medium of animation and interactivity.
Over the years the Company has produced over forty animation films based on stories drawn from the whole range of Highland myths and legends from the frankly blood-thirsty to the downright unbelievable. Our target audience is children and Gaelic learners.
Our current project is a Series based on Indian Tribal Artwork presented by Gaelic Comedian Norman MacLean called Farpais nan Treubhan/The Tallest Story Competition.
On the Am Baile web site the WHA animated collection is re-presented in interactive form along with traditional source material for the more academic student of Highland folkways.
