Dulnain Bridge, by Abernethy Primary
Pupils from Abernethy Primary visited Dulnain Bridge with Heritage Officer Andrew Ferguson and artist John McNaught.
Dulnain Bridge is located between Carrbridge and Grantown on the Rothiemurchus Estate. The estate is found within the Cairngorms Nature Reserve, which is of international significance for its landscape and natural habitats.
The glaciated rocks around Dulnain Bridge are of particular importance. The rocks are called Roches Moutonees which literally means 'rock sheep' because when seen from a distance they resemble the backs of sheep. The pupils at Abernethy have cleverly used the mushrooms found during their site visit to echo the shape of these rocks.
