Inverernie Stores

Le Alasdair Forbes - air a luchdachadh suas 25/09/2011

I have just read Gordon Steadwood's memories of Inverernie Stores.
I remember all of the Steadwoods well and the day that the Inverernie Stores opened. In those days we had another shop at Farr which, by then, was run by Pamela Milne having taken it over from Miss Cameron and Nellie Hardy in 1956. I am pleased to see that Gordon spelt the name 'Inverernie' as it should be. All the locals know it as that and it was with great amusement that they watched the first road sign being erected with the name wrongly spelt as 'Inverarnie'. There are VERY few locals left now and newcomers just accept the wrong spelling.
