Episcopalian

This cross stands outside the west end of St Bride's Episcopal Church in Onich, near Ballachulish. It was erected to the memory of Friar Mackonochie, a priest who in 1887 was visiting the Reverend J R A Chinnery-Haldane, Bishop of Argyll and The Isles. During his visit the priest ventured out in the snow and was found dead by the bishop's two dogs who kept watch over the body.
