Caravan on the ferry to Skye

Although the ferry between Kyle and Kyleakin on Skye had a turntable by the 1930s, it still only took one vehicle at a time. The caravan had to be loaded and transported separately from the towing car. This photograph, and another showing both car and caravan in the queue for the ferry, was used in the book "Over to Skye... Before the Bridge" by Bob Charnley.
