As the volume of vehicles increased, the jetty at Kyle of Lochalsh had to be improved by widening and resurfacing it. As yet no car park has been provided and so cars will still queue through the village at busy times. In this view towards the village of Kyle of Lochalsh, Duncan Macpherson's Pharmacy can be seen at the start of the jetty, to the left of the Marine Stores. The TSS Lochness, built for MacBraynes in 1929 for the Mallaig - Kyle - Stornoway route, is moored at the Kyle railway pier
