The Gordons' son, Adam, joined the Seaforth Highlanders and fought in World War I. After the war years Adam moved with his wife to Ord Cottage, Muir of Ord.

Adam's younger son, John (also known as Jack to distinguish from his grandfather) fought in World War II and later became proprietor of the music shop 'The Record Rendezvous' at Church Street, Inverness.
